Ammonite Designs - Chain Maille Jewellery

The formation of small rings into fabric to provide protection from swords and lances, has through the ages, developed into the chain maille method of making beautiful, individual jewellery and was probably invented before the 5th century by the ancient Celts.

Chain Maille bracelet and Swarovski bead.The name mail comes from the French word "maille" which is derived from the Latin "macula" meaning "mesh of a net".

Chain Maille can be formed with fine delicate weaves through to heavier more gothic designs.

Rings, bracelets, necklaces and so much more can be crafted from chain maille. From Helms to Dragon Scale, Byzantine to Persian, either alone or including beautiful beads or eye-catching Swarovski crystals.
